| Drinking water supply to small populations | Description, Objectives and Scope: Water supply to Zaragoza and surrounding towns has been affected by diminishing quality of water due to an increase in salinity of the river Ebro and to the increase in population. This brings an additional challenge in the treatment of water in the existing plant facilities. | ||
| Technical data | A new conduit brings water from Yesa and La Loteta dams to a total population of around 850.000 inhabitants, with better water quality than the previous supply. The maximum flow is 4.3 m3/s. The Project includes 44 km of DN 1800 and DN 1600 pipes, reaching Zaragoza with DN 1200 pipes. The different branches, built in phases, vary from DN 150mm to DN 450mm. | ||
| Our contribution | *Crsipin Multiplex Air valves sizing and set location in all different pipes. *Design of operation time for all isolating valves in DN 1800 mm and 1600 mm pipes, studying the transient analysis, using program Surge from Kypipe, to minimize the water hammer effect. *Design and supply of all Ross Valve regulating valves to all tanks, to optimize operation. *Supplied pressure reducing valves, air valves, anti-flood valves and tank control valves | ||
